I hope after reading this; you will have a better understanding concerning the Sabbath day and how to keep it in a modern world. Many people know and believe that they should keep the Sabbath day holy and set it apart from all the other six days, but are they keeping it as YHVH instructed them to? If YHVH wrote the 10 Commandments then surely there must be clear instruction of how to follow the 4th one of keeping the Sabbath day? People seem confused on how to do it biblically. For almost two millennia we have been conditioned into a false worship. I have compiled together from scripture how they kept it then and how it should be kept still today. My hope is to restore the Sabbath day to its former glory and blessings; so that Gods people can rest in Him each week and have something amazing to look forward to throughout the week. The first step is to read about the time YHVH commanded Moses and what the requirements were. Exodus 16:29 See, for that the LORD hath given you the Sabbath, therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread of two days; abide ye every man in his place, let no man go out of his place on the seventh day. Let no man go out of his place on the seventh day. Let no man to go out of his place on the sabbath! How then did it change to “Leave your house and travel for miles to a church building for an hour service on sunday? When YHVH God said that we are not to leave our home?
We see in Exodus that the day before the Sabbath is preparation day for the Sabbath. Gather in the food and have enough for two days so that there is no gathering on the Sabbath. In modern terms, there is no shopping on the Sabbath. Food needs to be bought and paid for and prepared on Friday so as not to need any- thing that could cause you to have to break the day of Sabbath rest.
Deuteronomy 5: 13 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 14 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God, on which you must not do any work-- neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your ox or donkey or any of your livestock, nor the foreigner within your gates, so that your manservant and maidservant may rest as you do. Sabbath was intended to be a day at home of complete rest from worldly pursuits a time to worship. Neither your servant nor your animals could do any work on this day.
No other day has ever been sanctified as the day of rest.
The Sabbath Day begins at sundown on Friday and ends at sundown on Saturday. Sabbath Rest: Genesis 2:1-3; Exodus 20:8-11; Isaiah 58:13-14; 56:1-8; Acts 17:2; Acts 18:4, 11; Luke 4:16; Mark 2:27-28; Matthew 12:10-12; Hebrews 4:1-11; Genesis 1:5, 13-14; Nehemiah 13:19.
Fast forward from ancient days to 100 years ago and man hitched his wagon with horses and loaded his family on board and headed off to a Sunday service for an hour, some miles away. Therefore animals and man were in breach of the law given by God to Moses on Mt Sinai. Sabbath is the seventh day and (No animal can work on the Sabbath and it was to be the seventh day, not the 1st day of the week). How did this change and when?
1700 Years of being fed false worship and keeping the traditions of the pagan Roman Catholic Church and her offspring!
Mark 7: 7 They worship Me in vain; they teach as doctrine the precepts of men.’ 8 You have disregardedthecommandmentof Godto keepthetraditionof men.” Trust Gods word only and check everything against it.Prove all things as told.1 Thessalonians 5:2121 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
The Roman Catholic Religion started the tradition of Sunday worship services, keeping the bible truths from the people for the past 1700 years and even with the protestant reformation the main stream Churches have done the very same thing and have followed in the great mother of harlot’s footsteps.
In Revelation 12:17 reveals plainly who The TRUE end time Church will be and it leaves NO doubt whatsoever, that they will be keeping all 10 Commandments of YHVH and that INCLUDES the 4th Commandment, of keeping the 7th Sabbath day holy.
I assure you that you will be blessed beyond your imagination once this blessing has been revealed to you. But first before you carry on please say a prayer and ask YHVH to remove any veil that might have been placed over your eyes from religion and its false teachers. If its truth you seek and only truth? Then you have come to the right place today.
The Truth will set you free.
How to Make the Sabbath a Delight?
King David gave us an insight into how in Psalms 66:4.
Make a Joyful Noise. Psalms 66:3 Say to God, “How awesome are Your deeds! So great is Your power that Your enemies cower before You. 4 All the earth bows down to You; they sing praise to You; they sing praise to Your name.” Selah 5 Come and see the works of God; how awesome are His deeds toward mankind.…
Let’s go to the New Testament and see what Sabbath keeping entailed for Jesus/Yahshua and the apostles and disciples of that time.
What was a synagogue?
Meaning: A gathering of people. Throughout the entire New Testament we read of the synagogue being a room on a person’s house. Or in some cases a gathering by the riverside.
Mark5:35While Jesus was still speaking, some people came from the house of Jairus, the synagogue leader. "Your daughter is dead," they said. "Why bother the teacher anymore?" Acts18:7Then Paul left the synagogue and went next door to the house of Titius Justus, a worshiper of God. Mark5:38When they came to the home of the synagogue leader, Jesus saw a commotion, with people crying and wailing loudly.
When there was no man to preside over them, women kept their own Sabbath meetings.
Acts 16:3 And on the Sabbath, we went out of the city by a riverside where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down and spoke unto the women who resorted thither.
Sabbath entailed Home Groups visited by Yahshua and the Apostles.
We see that Jesus/Yahshua and the apostles visited homes on the Sabbath and read and taught from the scriptures. They sang songs of praise. Healing of the sick was part of the Sabbath service as Jesus pointed out to the Pharisees. Healing the sick is love and mercy and a faith builder like no other practice. It is a visual sight of the supernatural at work and done in Jesus name.
Nowhere do we see the believers erecting buildings and packing up and tracking off to a huge stone building called a church some miles away from their homes, never healing anyone and holding a 1 or 1 ½ hour long service on Sunday and then going off shopping afterwards as we see all too common in the denominational churches today. Nowhere did Jesus command the apostles to start erecting church structures or buildings. There is a massive amount of money that goes into purchasing land and building modern day church buildings and it actually segregates families. Often one family member only goes off to church and the rest of the family remains home untouched by the word. Yet the command was that your family, children, servants and strangers within your gates were all to gather in a house church. Acts 17:24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; The above scripture tells us that Jesus is not in the buildings made by human hands. Our body is the Temple and He is with us where two or three are gathered together. Large congregations where men fall asleep in the pews and women wear the latest fashions and the talk is about anything but the Lord is not what we are meant to be doing. The Sabbath day is ordained as a day of rest from the world and for worship together with our extended families and the father or parent as head over the gathering to teach and worship and sing praises. The Last Supper held in the upper room. We have seen paintings of the upper room depicted in Catholic Christian art, in the background stain glassed church windows a representation of a Roman Church setting.
Nothing could be further from the truth. The last supper was held in a disciples house in the upper room. Yashua sent a request ahead to one of the disciple’s homes and asked for them to make ready for the Passover meal. It was an upper room on a man’s house. (A synagogue.) Luke 22: 11 And ye shall say unto the good man of the house, The Master say unto thee, Where is the guest chamber, where I shall eat the pass-over with my disciples? 12 And he shall shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready. 13 And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the pass-over.
For the first three centuries Sabbath meetings and Feast Holy Days were celebrated in synagogues, guest chambers, in church member’s homes. The Temple was part of the place where teaching and preaching was made and for the disciples to gather together for festivals as we saw Jesus attend with His family when He was twelve years old, but Jesus told us that it would be thrown down and no stone left unturned and that He did not dwell in temples made with human hands. Acts 7:48.
The large pagan structures of buildings we see today are from the 4th century worship when Roman god worship overtook the disciples with the Emperor Constantine taking control of the church in 325 AD, he forbid home church and forced all into the monumental structures that the pagans constructed for their sun-god worship of pagan deities, so that he had control over them, and what they were being taught. Scriptures were confiscated, laws and times were changed and the believers were forced to accept the pagan sun-god worship or be excommunicated.
Men in the modern Church. The man was to be Bishop, meaning father presiding over his own household to instruct and lead them in Sabbath praise and worship and rest. This is the meaning of a man to be head of the wife. He is to preside over his family and teach from the bible the true biblical teachings. Bear in mind that Yahshua and the apostles only had the Torah and Tanakh throughout the NT church and they read from it and there are 855 quotations from the Old Testament in the New Testament. So we see that the Old Testament was their main reading and teaching tool and letters written later were ordered that each area leader had a copy and distribute them around which became the NT. So to leave off the Old Testament as just a few good stories which seemed to be the extent of the interest in the modern day Christianity is very much taking away from the word which we are instructed not to do. Yahshua took our stripes for us and punishments for the curse of the law and we now keep the commandments because we love Him. By reading and studying the Old Testament we learn what the laws are and how the punishments were meted out and come to know just what He took our punishments for.
Offices in the Church.
Ephesians 4: 11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: 13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ: Jesus and the apostle’s went every Sabbath to visit and teach at the home synagogues to perfect the saints and keep them from falling away or from teaching anything contrary to the word. Constantly warning them of false teachers and false prophets. There are differing roles in the church and these men taught in their own homes and it appears when they had gained a good standing they were appointed regions and cities to have charge over also. They were to follow the commission to go into the whole world and preach the gospel. They were doing street preaching and gatherings outside of towns during the week which was bringing thousands of believers coming into the fold and they were teaching them to raise their children in subjection to the laws of God. Helping the home owner to become Bishop over his flock, and develop into a growing community of believers. Bearing in mind that the Jewish converts were already keeping true Sabbath Day worship and the Lords Feast Day appointments, They undertook regions to teach and train the head of the home especially with gentiles coming into the fold to keep Sabbath requirements and the biblical festivals.
Jesus/Yahshua and the apostles before, during and after the resurrection kept the seventh day Sabbath and kept all of the Lords festivals. Nowhere do we see them keeping Sunday worship or Christmas and Easter celebrations. These were all instituted by the Roman Catholic Church in the fourth century AD.
One of Jesus greatest warnings was not to be deceived by false prophets with damnable heresy. Yet it seems the whole of western Christianity did just that.
Throughout the NT we see that they invited neighbours and servants, extended families and friends to their homes where they could join in and be instructed and taught until they had been fellow shipped and grounded in the word and were then able to do it from their own home. Thus the gospel spread and it was very difficult for the Romans to stop as it was not large prominent buildings but whole streets and cities and communities that were becoming disciples in their neighbourhoods. The true church will return to home synagogues and family church. Especially now in the last days with the rising attacks of the Muslims, Black lives matter and antifa, threatening to burn every church building they see with the Christians inside them.
The home church believers came together collectively at the Lords Festivals of which there were 7 a year encompassed into 3 main biblical feast celebrations. These required a pilgrimage and travel to attend them, and a great time of instruction, learning, fellowship and celebration.
Paul wrote letters to keep the believers informed of his travels, and gave instructions on how to appoint overseers of areas. Titus 1:5-9 For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou should set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee: 6 If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.
Seventh Day Sabbath keeping was already the custom of the Jews and therefore it continued on now with a new onus on Jesus/Yahshua and the New Covenant Church which meant they now keep His commandments because they love Him and not because it was the law. John 14:15 If you love me keep my commandments.
Women’s role in the church.
Whilst we are all aware of Paul stating, that women are not to preach over their own husbands, we can see that they have a major role to play.
1 Timothy 5:16 If any believing woman has dependent widows, she must assist them and not allow the church to be burdened, so that it can help the widows who are truly in need. 17. Elders who lead effectively are worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching.
We see that the women’s role in the church was primarily to teach women and to work with the widows and assist them and not allow them to become a burden so that the elders could work effectively in the areas that were truly needed. (Teaching and preaching.)
Older women to teach the younger women.
Titus 2:3-5 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becomes holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
All too often we see 18 year old being called to position of youth leader or young woman leaders in the modern day church.
In a bid to make it more exciting or appealing it seems often to have a young woman leader is the more frequent choice, because she is modern thinking and more apt to connect on the same level and make it about fun activities to keep the girls happy. But it is not what the Lord has asked for. It is not what is recommended in the scriptures. Older woman are to teach the younger ones, because they have the experience and are able to teach and prepare the younger ones for their role as wife and mother. It is very much a custom of the Jews for women to light the candles and make the prayers in the synagogue before during and after meals and at biblical festivals.
We see also that women will prophecy as well as men and have visions and dreams Acts 2:15-21. So it is not a put down for women, saying women should not preach over their husbands as many seem to think. It is utilising the different gender at its finest point. Males to protect the wife and honour and love her as Christ loved the church and women to nurture the church and be submissive as that is how Christ loved His disciples with washing their feet and nurturing and teaching them how to pray. Men, women are given the authority to heal the sick, cast out demons and were constantly called on to do this as a sign that they are followers of Jesus/Yahshua. (Luke 9:1-2, Matthew 10:1) Healing authority releases great power.
